| Parents of John Ireland students and staff make up the John Ireland School Sub-Committee. This committee, along with all parents are responsible for fundraising for the school. Volunteering for these events is a great way to meet other parents and staff, share time with your child and his or her friends, and have some fun. The following is a schedule of some of the events and fundraisers this year. |
| • On-going, Special Projects: Parents collect items for educational fundraisers sponsored by Hy-Vee, EconoFoods, Kemps, Land-O-Lakes, Kwik Trip, Mattson Marketing (ink cartridges) and Cmapbell’s Soup. Parents sign up by month to clip and count the items. John Ireland parents are involved in the school through committees, organizations, student programs, volunteering, and student activities. John Ireland School and the parents communicate with one another through parent-teacher conferences, contacts by teachers to the homes, a weekly Parent Newsletter and other communication through the school. |
| • October, Marathon Pledges will be solicited for two weeks prior to Marathon Day. All proceeds go directly to John Ireland School. Marathon participants can either walk through town or ride bike on a designated route. The Knights of Columbus sponsor this event. |
| • November, Barnes and Noble Book Fair Get some Christmas shopping done early. Purchase books for gift and pleasure. Use a voucher that we provide and a % of your total sale goes to JI. |
| • 1st Week of February Catholic Schools Week begins with a Mass followed by the Breakfast in the social hall. |
| • End of March, Luck of the Irish Fundraiser This is our biggest fundraiser. This fun night for adults at the fairgrounds includes dinner, live and silent auction. All JI families will be involved. |
| • May, Spring Program/Grandparents Day Children invite their grandparents or special friends to the concert. |
| • May, John Ireland Staff Appreciation Day The JI staff is honored with a meal sponsored by JI Parents. |
